Views on solar in Suffolk

Connection corridors

The development will include a grid connection that we currently anticipate to be up to 1km. It would run from the site via underground cables to the point of connection at the Yaxley 400kV National Grid substation. The main sites comprising the energy farm will also be connected by underground cables.

Q5. What are your thoughts on the broad areas of search for the indicative cable corridors?

Local environment and landscape

We are in the process of preparing our Environmental Impact Assessment Scoping Report, which will help inform the Preliminary Environmental Information Report (PEIR).

The scoping process plays a critical role in identifying the key environmental topics and potential impacts that need to be assessed in detail as part of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA).

Using this foundation, the PEIR will provide an initial assessment of the potential environmental impacts and opportunities associated with the Project.

Q6. What environmental issues relating to the proposals are most important to you?

Please pick your top three.

Q7. Do you have any suggestions for enhancing biodiversity or protecting wildlife habitats as part of the project? Please answer below.

Community benefit

As the proposals take shape over the coming months, we will be consulting with local communities and gathering feedback on how the Project can have a positive impact in the area and benefit the local community. We encourage you to share your suggestions on initiatives that would benefit your local and regional area. Please include details of any local charities or groups which are dedicated to helping local people and improving the area.

We are committed to ensuring that the Project brings meaningful, long-term benefits to the local area beyond renewable energy generation, and we look forward to collaborating with the community to make this a reality.

Q8. What types of community benefits or initiatives would you like to see included as part of this project? Please answer below.

Our consultation

Thank you for taking the time to share your views on the Project. The public consultation is a critical part of the development process and will help shape our proposals. We greatly value the local knowledge and feedback we receive, and we’ll aim to incorporate it into our proposals where practicable.
